# Kumiko

> Kumiko is a Mac window manager for ultrawide and big monitors. Snap windows with ⌃⌥ and the arrow keys, pick one of six layouts that fit your screen, or just say what you are working on and Kumiko arranges every window.

Kumiko is a macOS window manager made for ultrawide (21:9, 32:9) and big 4K/5K monitors. It is made by Jahvix (https://jahvix.com) in Ireland. It needs macOS 14 or later.

Key facts:
- Price: €30 one-time licence for 2 Macs, no subscription required. Launch pricing: first 25 licences €9, next 25 €18, then €30.
- Optional Kumiko AI add-on: €4/month or €36/year (Claude via Kumiko's server). Alternatives: your own Anthropic Claude key, Apple's free on-device model, or no AI.
- Snapping: hold ⌃⌥ (Control-Option) and press an arrow; press again to cycle ½ → ⅔ → ⅓. On ultrawides the first press is a third and ↑ is the centre column.
- Six whole-screen layouts (⌃⌥1–6): Focus centre, Halves, Thirds, Studio, Stack, Columns.
- AI command bar (⌥ Space): describe the task in plain words; Kumiko picks windows, opens missing apps, brings the right browser tab forward, can hide or quit apps, and shows the plan first.
- Privacy: never takes screenshots or reads window contents. AI requests contain only what you typed, app names, window titles, and optionally cleaned browser tab addresses.
